Forest wedding in Vipava valley.
As this is my home – Vipava valley – I am pleased every time I get a chance to shoot a wedding here. And if newlyweds also have a brilliant idea for their wedding I am all in. And this was the case with this forest wedding in Vipava valley. These two found a church in the middle of a forest just above the valley. We all had to drive this narrow and steep road, park at the end and walk for another 20 minutes uphill through the woods.
And there was a small church/chapel amongst the trees. After the ceremony the sun was almost setting so we need to hurry to get the bridal portraits before the dark. So we headed a bit higher to a clearing with some nice views over the valley. It was already dark in the woods. As I was walking backwards to get their shots on a narrow path I almost stepped on a snake. It was just minding her own business on the same path, though. Thank god I didn’t see it 🙂
We came to the clearing just in time. The sun was setting down and the colours on the mountains in the background were amazing. We have managed to get a lot of really great shots in a short time.
This is why I love Vipava valley.
